Before Clearwater Business Park the manufacturers and importers of New Zealand butter, built a large butter and cheese packing factory which provided jobs for 350 people. The factory, a large butter colored which still remains at the site contained a sound proofed viewing area above the production line and a lecture room so that schools and other groups could visit to learn about the process involved. Over 5m. packs of butter were sold in the shops every week delivered by Anchor’s fleet of 26 lorries.
